In early January, we were confined to our home due to heavy snowfall. As someone who grew up in Africa, snow still fills me with wonder and excitement. Determined to combat cabin fever, I kept myself occupied with various crafts, particularly crochet and purse-making. In the past, I used to enjoy creating purses using my sewing machine. My approach to creation is unconventional, often driven by whims and the things that capture my interest at the moment. While I occasionally purchase project instructions on platforms like Etsy, I’m more inclined to look at something and think, “I can do that.” This is usually how most of my projects take shape. Recently, I dusted off my sewing machine after three years, feeling the need to try something different. Although I haven’t designed any fabric recently, I sell the designs I created. Additionally, I have a children’s book series called “Maeve the Brave” available on Amazon under the pen name Ollie and Joon Moon. Furthermore, I offer made-to-order items on various platforms such as Redbubble, Etsy, and Society 6.
